ELECTRICAL KNOWLEDGE IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO PERFORM THIS CONVERSION SAFELY. POTENTIALLY LETHAL VOLTAGES ARE PRESENT. WE CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ERRORS OR ACCIDENTS THAT MIGHT ARISE WHEN PERFORMING THIS CONVERSION. IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBT ABOUT YOUR ABILITY TO PERFORM THIS CONVERSION SAFELY PLEASE CONTACT US FIRST

PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FULLY BEFORE COMMENCING.

KIT CONTENTS: POWER SUPPLY, 4 WAY TERMINATED CABLE, RUBBER GROMMET, HEAT SHRINK, CABLE GLAND, CABLE TIES.
TOOLS REQUIRED. SOLDERING IRON, PLIERS, SCREW DRIVER, SOLDER, ELECTRIC DRILL, 10mm DRILL BIT.

DISCONNECT THE AMPLIFIER FROM THE MAINS BEFORE BEGINNING.

If the unit has been used recently, allow sufficient time for the power supply capacitors to discharge before beginning (5 mins is usually sufficient).

Remove the lid.

Drill a 10mm (grommet) or 13mm (gland) hole in the back of the amplifier near the IEC mains inlet. Make sure not to damage any internal parts when drilling. Feed in sufficient 4-way lead so that the YELLOW and BLUE wires can reach D101 and D102 on the circuit board (refer to diagram below).

See the diagram of part of the circuit board below.

On the printed circuit board (PCB), towards the back, locate diodes D105 and D108 and remove them. Do not remove D106 and D107.

Remove and insulate the 2 (Red) wires marked CHOKE.

Locate, to the left, diodes D101 and D102. Connect the YELLOW and BLUE wires as shown in the diagram. Make sure the two wires are connected to the correct ends of the diodes as shown in the diagram.

Locate R138 between the two large electrolytic capacitors.  Connect the RED and GREEN wires as shown in the diagram. Make sure the two wires are connected to the correct ends of the resistor as shown in the diagram. Incorrect connection will cause irreversible damage to the capacitor.

Secure the cable in place with the supplied cable ties. Connect the fitted cable to the BorderPatrol PSU and plug both units into the mains. Switch on the Canary as usual and after approximately 20 seconds warm up, music will play.
